I’m Jonathan Acosta Hidalgo, but most people call me Jon. I’ve been working in marketing, communication, and digital strategy for over fifteen years. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of learning from great teams and projects. I’ve always been driven by curiosity and the desire to do things well — with meaning, coherence, and impact — but above all, to do them differently, always trying to bring something new to the table. That’s no easy task, since almost everything has already been invented, and none of us are smarter than anyone else.
I’ve worked in agencies and companies such as t2ó, Nivoria, Havas, and Finnovating, and I’ve also launched my own projects like La Escalera de Fumío Digital Media and Kairos Sport Marketing. In all of them, I’ve sought to contribute a strategic perspective, integrating creativity, data, and business to generate real growth.
I like to think that my job isn’t just about selling more, but about helping brands build honest and sustainable relationships with people. I believe in effort, collaboration, and humility as the driving forces behind any good result.
Since 2013, I’ve also been a professor at Universidad del Atlántico Medio (UNAM), where I try to share what I’ve learned — and continue learning — about digital marketing, strategy, and communication.
I still enjoy every project as if it were my first. And although I’m passionate about technology and data, what truly motivates me is seeing how ideas turn into something that improves businesses, connects people, and leaves a mark.
With this blog, I aim to express myself freely, make plenty of mistakes, say silly things, and above all, learn from it all — in other words, to be myself and hold nothing back.
